TIME REMAINING IN CAMPAIGN
Donation Collected $24,339 of $50,000.
Dear CBS Family,
When we reached out to you a year ago, we were eight months into the pandemic with no end in sight. As a community, we were faced with many questions about the coming year, including whether and when we would physically reopen for in-person ritual and social events. CBS remained open, virtually, ensuring that the fabric of our Jewish community held strong.
We have come a long way since then. We have begun to safely gather in person and reconnect with each other away from our computer screens. High Holiday and weekly Shabbat services have resumed in-person, as have Men’s Club, Sisterhood, USY, and adult education programs. Our Hebrew school students have returned to their classrooms and our preschool has remained open since summer 2020.
We are almost 100% back and we need your support and commitment to get us there! We have implemented measures to ensure that everyone feels safe, but we recognize that some may still be reluctant to return to in-person gatherings. This means we have still been unable to mount the types of fundraising events we rely on each year to maintain our operations.
As a result, we again need your help.
Last year, we set a fundraising goal of $50,000, and this community responded, reaffirming that when we come together, there is nothing we cannot accomplish. This year, the Board of Directors has once again set a fundraising goal of $50,000, to be raised by January 31, 2022.
We know there are some families that will not be able to contribute in the way that others might. But we also know that there are families that are fortunate enough to be able to contribute more, a reflection of their generosity and capability. If each of our member families donates an additional $225.00 over their normal annual pledge, we will meet and exceed our goal.
To donate, you can contact Robin at (661) 254-2411 or at robin.ceppi@cbs-scv.org, or you can donate securely on our website, by pressing the “Give Now” button up top. If you donate before December 31st, you may be able to take advantage of an additional tax deduction for this year. Contact Danny Maya at danny.maya@cbs-scv.org for other options, including stock donations.
Due to your generosity, we were able to return to a degree of normalcy. With your help again this year, we can continue to grow and thrive.
Thank you for giving so generously.

Your contribution matters
Please give what you can. Remember, if every family donates a minimum of $225, we will overcome our anticipated deficit for the entire year by the end of January. But if you can give more than $225, we would greatly appreciate your generosity. Thank you for supporting CBS.
