Donation Collected $67,935 of $50,000.
Dear CBS Family,
Over the past eight months, the CBS community has adapted, even though we have not been able to join with each other in person for ritual and social events. The core programs of CBS have continued virtually – High Holiday and weekly Shabbat services, Men’s Club, Sisterhood and USY programs, Hebrew school classes, and adult education programs. In addition, our preschool has been open since July, a testament to the dedication and commitment of our teachers and staff. While the physical location of the synagogue is closed, CBS is most certainly open for business.
Unfortunately, though, because of the pandemic, we have been unable to mount the types of fundraising events we have held in the past, and we are uncertain when we will be able to hold these events in the future. While we have made every effort to reduce costs and operate with considerably stripped down expenses, we are still anticipating a deficit of approximately $40,000 from our projected budget.
As a result, we need your help.
The Board of Directors has set a fundraising goal of $50,000, to be raised by January 31, 2021, which will provide necessary stability and security so CBS can weather the storm should the pandemic continue for longer than expected.
We know there are some families that have been so affected by the pandemic that they will not be able to contribute in the way that others might. But we also know that there are families that are fortunate enough to be able to contribute more, a reflection of their generosity and capability. If each of our 235 member families donates an additional $225.00 over their normal annual pledge, we will meet and exceed our goal.
To donate, you can either contact Robin at (661) 254-2411 or at email@example.com, or you can donate securely on our website, at cbs-scv.org/donate. If you make your donation before December 31, 2020, you may be able to take advantage of an additional tax deduction for this year. Contact Danny Maya at firstname.lastname@example.org for other donating options, including stock donations.
If this community comes together now as it always has, we will meet our goal thanks to generous contributions from all of you. And once the pandemic is behind us, we will be back and better than ever.
Thank you for giving so generously.
Roger Reiner, CBS President

Thanks for your donation.
Your contribution matters
Please give what you can. Remember, if every family donates a minimum of $225, we will overcome our anticipated deficit for the entire year by the end of January. But if you can give more than $225, we would greatly appreciate your generosity. Thank you for supporting CBS.
