Jennie Grossinger had a fierce commitment to build the family business into something special. Grossinger’s Catskills Resort Hotel blazed a trail the hotel business has followed ever since. At its height, the resort was the preeminent getaway for food, recreation, and entertainment. It was really the first all-inclusive resort experience.

Grossinger’s reputation attracted a wide variety of comedians, athletes, and political figures, including Mel Brooks, Jackie Robinson and Eleanor Roosevelt. This nostalgic film tells the story of the iconic Catskills resort that served as the inspiration for the classic 1987 film Dirty Dancing. It’s an immersive journey through the Catskills once known as the Borscht Belt.
