CBS Film Series presents Joseph Pulitzer: Voice of the People

Date: Sunday, June 23rd
Time: 12:00 p.m.
Location: Congregation Beth Shalom
21430 Centre Pointe Pkwy,
Santa Clarita, CA 91350

Joseph Pulitzer began as a penniless Jewish immigrant from Hungary and grew to be one of America’s most admired and feared media figures. The film tells the story of the man who spoke of “fake news” over a century ago. Pulitzer was outspoken and cantankerous. His New York newspaper, The World, transformed American media by bringing game changing originality to newspapers. His commitment to fearless reporting would come to challenge a popular president and fight for freedom of the press. The parallels to today’s times are uncanny, sobering, and disturbing. Adam Driver is the narrator and Liev Schreiber is the voice of Joseph Pulitzer. Together, they bring to life the virtually unknown man whose name is attached to the Pulitzer Prizes for excellence in journalism.
